The Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) hosted IYPT Brazil 2026 on March 6, 7, and 8, 2026, the national stage of the International Young Physicists’ Tournament, an academic competition aimed at fostering young talent in Physics. The event brought together students and teachers around scientific challenges that require creativity, theoretical depth, modeling, and experimental investigation, making a significant contribution to the promotion of scientific education.
The organization of the event at ITA included the participation of faculty members affiliated with the Graduate Program in Physics (PG-FIS) on the local organizing committee, reinforcing the Program’s active involvement in academic initiatives with strong educational impact. The jury panel also included ITA students, including graduate students from PG-FIS and undergraduate students, in an experience that brought together different levels of academic training and strengthened the Institution’s academic environment.
By hosting and supporting IYPT Brazil 2026, ITA and PG-FIS reaffirm their commitment to extension activities that encourage vocations and careers in scientific and technological fields, especially those involving Physics. Initiatives such as this help bring young students closer to the world of research, innovation, and rigorous scientific thinking, in line with the Institution’s mission to promote excellence in teaching, research, and the training of highly qualified human resources.
